Overview
The Ghorepani- Poon Hill Trek
 leads you to the popular view point of Poon Hill and the fascinating village of Ghandruk. Most of the Ghorepani trail leads through the villages of Gurung and Magar, then through the forest of rhododendron flowers. The maximum altitude of this trek is 3210m at Poon Hill, which can be done with normal levels of physical conditioning no previous trekking experience. Trekking to Ghorepani and Poon Hill suites for those who have a short time in Nepal and still want to be close to the Annapurnas. The Ghorepani Trek begins after a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and a beautiful walk through Ulleri to Ghorepani before continuing to Ghandruk to explore Gurung village and its culture. The trek ends in Nayapul where you willstart a short drive back to Pokhara.

 

The Ghorepani- Poon Hill trek is an excellent combination of Himalayan scenery and beautiful landscape views. The view of the sunrise from Poon Hill is the greatest view of the Himalayas, offering glimpses of more than 30 mountains including three mountains above 8000m. The Poon Hill trek takes you through valleys, riversides, forests and beautiful villages. It is a unique experience and the adventure of a lifetime.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport, we will greet you and assist you to the Hotel. We can meet later on that day or the next day to take you to our head office to brief you on your upcoming Trek with us. At that time we will introduce you to your trekking guide and Sherpa. If your flight arrives on time, we will take you to one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music and ethnic dance. This will give you a glimpse into the different ethnic groups of the country. If you arrive late in the evening we can do this the next day.
After breakfast, you will begin a city tour of Kathmandu where you will see the main attractions of the valley. On this tour you will visit the Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace). After finishing the city tour, we will meet again to check your clothing and trekking equipment (sleeping bag, down jacket and trekking boots). This evening will be spent in Kathmandu.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will board a tourist bus departing for Pokhara at 7:00 in morning. The is an interesting drive along the scenic Prithivi Highway. The bus makes two stops, once for breakfast and once for lunch. After a seven hour drive you will arrive in Pokhara. After a brief rest at the hotel, you can walk around the lake and explore the surrounding areas.
Today we will take a short drive to Nayapul, the beginning part of the trek. The trail begins with an easy walk towards Birethanti along the river. The trail leads you towards Bhurundi Khola along great scenery, passing through several countryside villages all the way up to Tikhedhunga. Stay overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, we will prepare for the long uphill hike to Ulleri which has 3,200 stone steps and amazing landscape with views of the valley and the Annapurnas. This scenery gives you inner power to climb up these steps and encourages you to keep going. After a short walk from Ulleri, the trail leads you through the rhododendron forest, home to the national flower of Nepal. Then the trail continues uphill to Ghorepani where we will have excellent views of the entire Annapurna Range and Dhaulagiri. Stay overnight at the lodge.
Wake up before sunrise and take the hour-long walk up Poon Hill for a breathtaking view of the sunrise and surrounding mountains. After taking photographs from atop Poon Hill, we will drop back down to the lodge at Ghorepani and trek down to Tadapani after breakfast. The beginning part of the trail is a steep uphill walk to the ridge. At Deurali you can take a short break. Then the trail drops down through the valley to Banthanti, through a scenic forest. At the end, is a short easy walk to the ridge and steep descent to a river crossing via bridge. The day concludes with a steep climb to Tadapani, located on the top of the ridge. Stay overnight at a guest house.
After hot breakfast at the lodge, the trail drops a bit down through the forest to Bhaisekharka and continue towards Ghandruk. After lunch at Ghandruk, explore around the village to visit Museum and overnight stay at lodge.
Today is the last day of your trekking trip. It is very pleasant walking today through the village and farm terrace which drops down to the Modi Khola and Sauli Bazzar. After that, easy walk to Birethanti where we will have to sign out from ACAP office. After short easy walk to the bridge the trail leads last steep climb to the road point where we will able to take bus ride to Pokhara. Stay overnight at the Lodge.
At 7:00 in the morning, we'll drive to Kathmandu along the Prithivi highway taking the same route we drove from Kathmandu on our way to Pokhara (7-8 hours). We will arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon. That night we will host a farewell dinner at a Nepalese restaurant. Spend the night in Kathmandu.
Today is the last day of your trip with us. If you would like to extend your holiday, we will help you. Otherwise, we will assist you to the airport for your departing flight. If your flight is late in the evening, you can do some shopping or manage your photos from the trip.

Travel Insurance
You must have a  travel insurance. A travel insurance policy that covers cancellation, injury, death, lost baggage, theft, liability, medical treatment and expenses. Make sure the insurance covers all the activities that you will be undertaking during your stay in Nepal. If a client becomes ill, all hospital expenses, doctors' fees and repatriation costs are the client's responsibility. If you are injured and unable to travel, you can ask for a rescue helicopter from a remote area only if you have definite proof you can pay for it.

We strongly recommend you to consult the doctor before planning your holidays. 
Foods and Accommodation
In Kathmandu we use tourist standard hotel to ensure a comfortable stay and relaxed environment before and after your adventure. All breakfasts are included at the hotel in Kathmandu. Rooms are generally twin share – depending on group size and room availability, triple share may be offered up on your request. A single supplement room is available at an additional cost. For breakfast you expect to have porridge, toast or chapattis, omelet and local bread. We will provide all meals on full board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea & coffee) from the teahouse menu during the trekking period. Whilst trekking on the Everest, the accommodation is in guesthouses or Lodges which are basic with shared facilities. Some lodges offers shower and mostly offers bucket hot water up on request. During the trip you can expect 2 hot showers.

Our effort while you are on a trek
We will try to keep to the proposed itinerary, however as this is adventure travel in a remote Himalayan region, the health of member, weather conditions can all contribute to changes the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary. If you are delayed longer than the itinerary date we can help reschedule your international flights but prepare to pay some extra charge if required.
