Overview

Mt. Manaslu is the world's eighth highest mountain,reaching 8156 meters above sea level. It is a restricted trekking area that requires special permits, which were first officially offered in 1991,and has become a very popular trekking destination. Trek to Manaslu begins with a long drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, which is  a fascinating town full of mixed cultures, caste groups and ethnic groups. Manaslu trek is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating. The Manaslu trail leads you through Budi Gandaki valley towards the top of Larkya La, and drops down to the  Manang district. There is a hot spring along the route where you can enjoy a hot bath. Locals along the way are largely Tibetan Buddhists who settled here in the early 1600s.


The Larkya La pass is the most dramatic pass over the Himalayas. Manaslu trekking traverses a large elevation range, coming from the lower valley before climbing to high Himalayan passes. There are very basic tea houses, along with basic accommodations and basic foods available on this route. After the pass, the trail drops down to Dharapani, which is en route to the Annapurna Circuit, then ends in Besisahar. Then drive back to Kathmandu.


 
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport, we will greet you and take you to the Hotel. We can meet later on that day or the next day to take you to our head office to brief you on your upcoming Manaslu Trek with us. At that time we will introduce you to your trekking guide and Sherpa. If your flight arrives on time, we will take you to one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music and ethnic dance. This will give you a glimpse into different ethnic groups of the country. If you arrive late in the evening we can do this the next day.
After breakfast, you will begin a city tour of Kathmandu where you see the main attractions of the valley. On this tour you will visit the Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace). After city tour, we will meet again to check your clothing and trekking equipment (sleeping bag, down jacket and trekking boots). Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you will board a local bus departing for Arughat. This is an interesting drive along a scenic highway. The bus makes two stops, breakfast and lunch. After a seven hour drive you will arrive in Arughat. After a brief rest at the lodge at Arughat, you can walk around the town and explore the surrounding areas. Overnight at lodge.
After breakfast, Will will walk along a stone paved trail leading to north of the valley and along the river. There are rice farm on the way and also small forest where you can see monkeys. You will enjoy your walk through Magar and Gurung village and also few water falls pass through. vernight at Soti Khola.
Today, your day starts with a few ups and downs from Soti Khola towards north of valley. There are a few farm terraces along the way and also passing through the Sal forest. After short sandy walk along the bank of the river, the rocky trail leads Machha khola for overnight.
After breakfast the narrow trail leads to the bank of the river and walk through the gravel bar along the bank of the Budi Gandaki River to get to the village. Overnight in Jagat.
At the beginning of the day starts uphill to a rocky ridge to Salleri and descend to Setibas. The valley takes you to the suspension bridge and climb up to Philim, which is big Gurung village. After crossing the Budhi Gandaki the trail leads the west bank for a while, then cross to the east bank of the river to cross Deng Khola and continue walk to Deng village for overnight.
We cross the Budhi Gandaki after short walk from Deng and follow the north bank and then climb to Rana at 1980m. Then head west up the Budhi Gandaki valley. Cossing various streams and rivers we drop into the Sringi Valley.After few ups and downs in forests, we pass mani walls and then turn to a corner to get to Ghap for overnight.
After breakfast, the trail leads through the river upstream and dense forest. After crossing the river you will reach a narrow gorge, the forest becomes less dense and the trail is fine again. The pleasant walk continues to get to Namru village. On the way you can see beautiful peak Himal Chuli. After that the trail ascends where you cross many chortens and many barley terraces. You will encounter an excellent view of Ganesh himal and finally reach to Lho for overnight.
The trail leads through the shady forest which is an excellent walk where you will enjoy the natural beauty of the valley including snow Peak Mountains and peaks. A short climb to get to Shyala village and pass a large chorten we look down into a little deep where two rows of houses form the main part of Sama can be seen. At the far end of the village, overlooking the valley stands the well-known monastery of Sama. Overnight at Samagaon.
You will be walking around the village and visit a Buddist monastery. You can hike up to the ridge for the views of the mountains and the village. Overnight at Samagaon.
After breakfast the trail drops down to the Budhi Gandaki river to cross the side stream. The trail leads towards north and follow in to a bridge over a side. The Larkya la Trail passes several mani walls as the valley begins to wider. It is an easy walk through the juniper and birch forests of Kermo Kharka. Then cross the Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a promontory between two forks of the river. From a stone arch we can see a large white kani which we do have to cross to get Samdo for overnight.
After Samdo the trail continue walk down to the edge to cross the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki then uphillto the stream to cross. After short walk through the valley the trail leads up to the Larkya Phedi. It is also called Dharmasala because there is a huge stone. Evening walk around the hill to acclimatize and overnight at Larkya rest house.
After a short climb, we reach to the North side of the Larkya Glacier. You can enjoy the views of Cho Danda and then of Larkya Peak. Finally, we walk across the moraines of the glacier and a gradual ascent which becomes steeper only in the last section to get to the pass. Outstanding views including Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the huge Annapurna II. Today is big day comparatively and tiring day. Stop at Bimtang for overnight.
After breakfast the trail descends into a rhododendron forest towards narrow valley until we reach the highest cultivated land in this valley at Karche, 2785 meters. On the way one can enjoy the view of Manaslu, Annapurnas and many more mountains. From here we cross a slide, then go across fields before making a steep climb over a ridge. Then after the trail continue through the fields, over a clear stream, passing through the houses and fields interspersed with rhododendron and oak forests to Tilje. The trail continues for the day to Dharapani for overnight.
The trail drops down to the river to cross the bridge and flows the rocky trail towards Tal. After that easy downhill to Chanje and continue walk along the river to Ghermu phant. On the way n can enjoy the views of waterfall and Rocky Mountains. After Ghermu the trail leads up gently up to the bottom of Bahundanda and steep up to the village of Bahundanda for overnight.
After breakfast the trail drops down to the valley to cross the bridge and continue walk along the bank of the river to Nagdi village. Then the trail leads few up and downs to Khudi and continue walk to Besisahar for overnight.
At 7:00 in the morning, we'll drive to Kathmandu along thelittle road to Dumre and after that through thePrithivi highway.We will arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon. That night we will host a farewell dinner at a Nepalese restaurant. Spend the night in Kathmandu.
Today is the last day of your trip with us. If you would like to extend your holiday, we will help you. Otherwise, we will assist you to the airport for your departing flight. If your flight is late in the evening, you can do some shopping or manage your photos from the trip.
