Overview
Join us for an excursion to west of Bali visiting Batukaru where the Pura Luhur shrine stands over the three mountain lakes within its catchments: Lake Beratan, Buyan and Tamblingan that made up the ancient Tabanan kingdom, Jatiluwih. The view is spectacular from this small village at about 850 meters above sea level, with rice terraces following the contours of the hillsides as far as the eye can see. And visit Candikuning, a colourful fruit and vegetables market unique to this area of Bali.

Follow the Bedugul mountain range, where the road climbs and winds its way around steep cliffs hung with ferns. Then reach Lake Beratan which is surrounded by forested hills with a beautiful sight of the Danu temple that appears to emerge from the lake.
