| Visit the Egyptian Museum and discover famous treasures including the gold burial mask of Tutankhamun. Later, visit the beautiful Citadel of Saladin and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar where you can taste delicious local street food. |
| Discover the famous Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx on today’s tour. Gaze in awe at the colossal structures and enter inside one of the pyramids yourself, if you’re feeling brave. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure before we board the night train to Aswan this evening. |
| Arrive in Aswan and visit the beautiful Philae Temple before enjoying a leisurely visit to a perfume oil emporium, perfumed oils in Egypt dates back to 2700BC. The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax or further explore. This evening, we’ll visit the vibrant Aswan market and enjoy the smells of local herbs and spices in the air. |
| Sail in a traditional Egyptian felucca (small wooden sailing boat) to Elephantine Island, where our guided tour will take you to important archaeological sites and a visit to a local school (if open). Enjoy lunch and some family time onboard before spending the afternoon at leisure - you may wish to join our optional trip to the Nubian Museum. |
| Sail across the mighty Nile to the West Bank and enjoy a camel ride to St Simeon’s Monastery. Later we drive to Luxor, stopping en route at the symmetrical double temple of Kom Ombo. |
| Explore the ancient tombs of pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings, where Tutankhamun himself was uncovered in 1922. Later, visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and stop at the gigantic Colossi of Memnon. This afternoon discover the famous Karnak Temple, which took 1,500 years to complete. The evening is at leisure with your family or you may join our optional excursion to Luxor Temple, brilliantly illuminated at night. |
| Today we drive to the popular coastal resort of Hurghada, where you’ll have free time to relax and enjoy the beach. |
| Relax at leisure in Hurghada today or join our optional snorkelling excursion to a nearby coral reef. Snorkel in the tranquil waters and keep an eye out for aquatic life including beaked parrot fish and if you’re lucky, turtles and dolphins. |
| Enjoy days 10 and 11 relaxing in Hurghada at leisure. Why not pack your bathing suits, sun lotions and sun glasses and opt for a boat excursion on the Red Sea. Dropping the anchor at a location renowned for its safe snorkelling and swimming possibilities, you can opt to don mask, snorkel and fins for a great view of the colourful shoals of fish in the aquatic wonderland that is the Red Sea. After a day of swimming, snorkelling, sun tanning or relaxing, you’ll have no doubt worked up a healthy appetite - dinner is served up at the hotel. |
